John Culbertson

Senior Vice President of Acquisitions 

John Culbertson is Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for Brennan Investment Group. His responsibilities include the acquisition and development of industrial properties throughout both the Carolina’s and the Port of Savannah in Georgia. Mr. Culbertson is also a managing partner of Cardinal Real Estate Partners, a consulting firm in Charlotte founded in 2006 to provide solutions and strategies for complex real estate transactions.

Prior to his position with Brennan, Mr. Culbertson worked for Trammell Crow from 2000 to 2006, sourcing new business and providing leadership for Trammell Crow’s southeast sector. Mr. Culbertson negotiated national telecommunication projects, and successfully managed the disposition of the Charlotte Coliseum, earning widespread acclaim in the national press for his leadership, ethicality and creative execution. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Culbertson worked for International Airport Centers, providing multi-site, multi-project responsibility, including overseeing the renovation of a World War II deportation warehouse into Class A office space.

Mr. Culbertson values civic involvement and is an active member of his community. He has served on the North Carolina Commerce Department’s Economic Development board and the boards of the North Carolina Department of Transportation Turnpike Authority, University of North Carolina at Charlotte Center for Real Estate, NAIOP, REBIC, the Mecklenburg/Union Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Charlotte Regional Roads Committee. Mr. Culbertson is sought after as an industry expert, including writing columns for Business North Carolina magazine’s DevelopCLT.com blog and CharlotteAgenda.com.

Mr. Culbertson earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston and a Master of Business Administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University.
